Exciting partnership with British Rowing

Dead Sea Salt Therapy Pool for Olympic and Paralympic Athletes

We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with British Rowing, which will see Olympic and Paralympic athletes utilise our state-of-the-art Dead Sea Salt Therapy pool for recovery and rehabilitation sessions.

The Para Team’s Physio, Pat Dunleavy, has highlighted some of the remarkable benefits the pool offers to athletes stating, “The Dead Sea Salt Therapy pool is an exceptional recovery medium, aiding our rowers on their journey towards the Paralympics at the end of August.”

He adds in further detail exactly how the pool aids the athletes, “One of the primary advantages of the pool is its buoyancy, which allows athletes to float without engaging their muscles. This unique property enables muscles fatigued from intense training to relax more effectively. For our spinal-injured Para rowers, the pool offers the additional benefit of adopting a vertical position. This posture applies a positive distraction effect on the spine and hips, alleviating muscle tension accumulated from prolonged wheelchair use.”

Today, we welcomed the Para Rowing team for their first session. Gregg, one of the team’s experienced members, explained that the team pushes their bodies exceptionally hard, especially as they prepare for the upcoming Paralympic Games. He emphasised that this recovery opportunity is invaluable. Gregg shared that in the pool, he felt balanced and was able to achieve positions not possible on land, particularly enjoying the chance to release tension in his hips and back. Fellow athlete Annie added that rowing exerts significant force on the hips and back, and the Dead Sea Salt Pool offers an excellent opportunity to offload this stress. She also emphasized the benefit of taking time to relax.

We are eager to support and follow the athletes’ journeys over the next few months. This partnership marks an exciting step forward in enhancing their recovery and performance as they prepare for the pinnacle of their sporting careers.
